Players do not always understand that the lower half initiates the swing before the hands go to the ball. As a result of not engaging the lower half, players not only lose power but also have trouble with barrel accuracy when swinging.
Most players struggle at the plate because they don’t understand how to properly engage and fire their lower half, causing their hands to take over which can promote a long swing.
